Uncompromising judge of “Best Pastry Chef”, Mercotte spoke to Télé-Loisirs about his family life

She is very far from being a cake granny. Since 2012, Mercotte has served as a severe and uncompromising judge in “Le Meilleur Pâtissier” alongside Cyril Lignac. While M6 broadcasts a new episode of its baking competition this Wednesday, September 20 at 9:10 p.m., the culinary critic spoke to Télé-Loisirs about her relationship with her children.

First of all, Mercotte confirmed that she gets along well with Cyril Lignac, her “fifth son” with whom she is very close and remains in contact, even outside of filming. In the rest of the interview, she reveals that she had four children after her marriage, “because I told myself that I was going to worry for 10 years and then I was going to be able to live my life. That said, I have them made for them and not for me.”

Sometimes harsh with the candidates of the M6 ??show, the juror for Best Pastry Chef confided that she had not always been tender with her offspring: “As I did not have a mother, I did not know how to reproduce, so I’m not very tactile and raised them strictly. It had to work with a stick.”

Mercotte also adds that what was important to her as a mother was “giving them the meaning of the word work.” “I taught them that not everything falls into their mouths roasted. They even worked to earn their pocket money.” Since then, her children have given her ten grandchildren, and this food lover has trained everyone in her culinary passion!
