The Doctors of Aimes Afrique, the people, to clarify: There is Suffering hope by modern medicine. But the implementation of the hip-OPs represents a big challenge: a suitably equipped SURGERY, the sophisticated surgical equipment, the expensive hip replacements – all of which is not available in Togo.
The Togohilfe financed with own funds and a grant from the free state of Bavaria, the necessary equipment for the operating room of the Clinique International Kodom in Lomé. The Maisacher Association mobilized with Aimes Afrique, orthopedic surgeons from Bavaria, who travelled on a voluntary basis and at their own expense to Togo. Hardly arrived, rolled up the Sleeves and began to operate.
The German-Togolese operation team had played fast. The operations for poor patients succeed easily and all the features. Margret Kopp, Chairman of the Togohilfe, says: “effective, sustainable development cooperation: for the benefit of poor patients to help immediately, and for the improvement of the medical capacities as a sustainable investment.” The help to come and work in the long term.
