The 25-year-old Sherrock wrote in last week’s history at Alexandra Palace as the first woman ever to be a player in the world cup of darts against a man-to-win. They have been defeated in the first round Ted Evetts.
In the second round, provided they have an even bigger surprise, Mensur Suljovic, with the Austrian number eleven in the world, is questionable. Van Gerwen, however, is not surprised by the good play of Sherrock.
“Fallon is doing great, but she has nothing to win,” said the triple world champion, against the British vrouwensportwebsite Newschain. “Every one of us makes a big thing of it, but I have known for a long time, where they are able to do so. I’m not surprised by her success.”
