The opening bid for the car was on for about 3,500 us dollars (a little more than three thousand us dollars). Three minutes passed by, the amount of three million dollars.
The Ford Mustang was one of the two cars that were used in the filming of Bullitt in 1968. The car was said to have been destroyed.
In 1974, bought of Robert Kiernan in the Netherlands for sixty thousand us dollars (approximately 5 400 euros) and was used for day to day trips with his wife. Kiernan didn’t get a request from McQueen, in order for the car to be able to buy it.
Then, with about 100,000 miles on the odometer, the car broke down, ended up in the Netherlands, in Kiernan’s garage. Kiernan was in no circumstances to get in the car and repair it. After his death, took his son to check with the car manufacturer, the Ford and ended up with the car at the Detroit Auto Show in 2018.
