In the North of France, has a number of Venusbeeldjes was brought to light. We know they’re not as far north and so close to the Netherlands, in an area that is about 22,000 years ago, a severe mammoetsteppe it was.
you Have to attract, then go to the caves, which are between eur 35 000 and 10 000 years ago in both France and Spain, painted the famous Caves at Lascaux. But that’s art, not only in Europe. The men and women in Indonesia, painted 40,000 years ago, the caves with the images of the buffeltjes, and warthogs.
The meaning of the art, it is difficult to determine. The interpretations of the Venus figurines as a moedergodinnen or vruchtbaarheidsfiguren are in fact no more than a guess.
rock art in South africa: an antelope, as a shower of rain,
rock art whose meaning we are familiar with, to show how difficult the interpretation is. How to picture a heat wave or a downpour? The prehistoric artists had to cope with this problem.
the following is an example of South African rock art. Here it is, without a doubt, a elandantilope to see it. But the artist who made it, and had no elandantilope off. He’s painted it probably a good idea.

Elandantilope stood in front of the rain,
In South Africa we know of many of these cave drawings. That is, it is made by the San, the original hunter-verzamelaarbevolking (by the Dutch settlers in the seventeenth century, and if ‘bush’ as they are called). An investigation and interviews of the nineteenth century, giving a clear view of their religion and mythology.
The religion of the San, it is shamanistic. Shamans go into a trance, giving them access to the supernatural world, the spirit world. Thus, they were able to intervene in the physical world. In a trance to heal, for example, the sick, and they took care of it for the rain. In a trance, a regendier to kill it, it could be a shaman to let them fall. And, from this research it appears that this is a regendier now, just, often in the form of a elandantilope to.
Since at least four thousand years ago, the San rock art and the rest of the food, it is the most depicted animal. The art is so full of old buildings.

as To the exact meaning of which is still conjecture. But, we will be able to have something to say. We see a lot of animals are depicted. That are often associated with the hunt; one of the essential thing for a hunter-gatherer. But, there is a direct link, we can exclude it. The bones of a hunting catch, which some archaeologists dig it up, they are likely to be other animals in the victorian era, are shown.
Just as striking as what is pictured is what is missing. In the countryside, but also to the plants or to the camp, where the living are never shown.
that suggests That the animals in the arts is more than just a literal role to play. In the iconography of the last ice age were most likely to have a wide variety of symbolic meanings. The caverns are perhaps best seen as the pre-historic cathedrals and churches, the mythology is still poorly understood.
