the Astana team has been surprised by reports that toprenner Jakob Fuglsang would be working with Michele Ferrari. The Kazakh team denies any links with the Italian dopingarts.

the Astana team react this Monday at claims made in a leaked report from the independent anti-doping agency CADF, which is in the hands of the Danish and Norwegian press.

the 24-page document states that the Danish rider Fuglsang, a dopingprogramma followed by the infamous doctor Ferrari, who had a share in the case of Lance Armstrong for life, has been suspended. Also, the Astana team cyclist Alexey Lutsenko would have ties to Ferrari to have it.

“Astana has taken note of reports that some of the riders of the contacts they would have with dr. Ferrari,” said an official announcement of the world tour-band. “The team stressed that we are not suspicious of the doctors, as to the lord, for Ferrari, to work together.”

“our riders will not be allowed to get out of the squad for the doctors to refer to. We do not currently have contact with the UCI and the CADF, and get more information.”
May be more of Astana-riders to be involved
in The report, refers only to Fuglsang, and Lutsenko at the name, but it suggests that there is a covert collaboration between the Ferrari and the whole of the Astana team. For example, the Italian team in the last year, we visited during the Tour of Catalonia.

The 34-year-old Fuglsang, who will be in 2019 at the latest, the impression he made with the win in liège-Bastogne-Liège and a stage win in the Tour of Spain, as well as a seven-year-younger Kazach Lutsenko, not all allegations are dealt with. The two of them are currently on the hoogtestage in the Original.

the Astana team has emphasized a strict anti-doping to carry out, and in the event of any investigation, cooperate fully. “We’re going to assume that, if there is any evidence of wrongdoing, the authorities immediately, and a disciplinary procedure would be initiated. To date, however, this is not the case at all.”
