The mayor outgoing socialist far outpaces its rival Rachida Dati (LR) and the candidate LREM Agnès Buzyn, according to early estimates.

It approached the second tower in a position of strength, without anxiety. According to the first estimates by Harris Interactive – Epoka for TF1, LCI and RTL, Anne Hidalgo is well ahead of the second round of the municipal elections with 50.2 per cent, before the candidate LR Rachida Dati (32 %) and LREM Agnès Buzyn (16 %).

The first round of voting held on the 15th march last, had given a clear advantage to the mayor, a socialist elected in 2014, to arrive widely in the head (to 29.3 %) in front of Rachida Dati (22.7 %) and Agnès Buzyn (17.3 per cent). Since then, the ranking was unchanged in all the opinion surveys conducted in the period between the two rounds. To consolidate his victory, Anne Hidalgo, had entered into an agreement with the list ecologist conducted by David Belliard (10.8 per cent).

Anne Hidalgo said on Tuesday in an interview in the Figaro that she would “not be a candidate in the presidential election” of 2022. “As mayor of Paris, I have absolutely no frustration, no way, quite the contrary. It is at the level of cities that democracy now with more strength (…) I do not seek anything else. I will not cease to repeat it : Paris fills me”, she said.
