Gérald Darmanin has promised on Sunday to the arrival by the end of the year 60 additional police officers in Lille, during a visit to “the spot” at the central police station, in response to the request for reinforcements made by the mayor socialist.
“It is missing approximately fifty police national in the agglomeration of Lille (…). In the month of September, those police officers that are missing will be completed, thirty at the finish of September, at the exit of the schools, the rest in the month of December”, he assured. “By the end of the year it is sixty police officers in addition to that there will be in the metropolitan areas of Lille to get back to the numbers that are normally 1.845”.

Gérald Darmanin was also of the view that “the video surveillance is not enough present in Lille” and arranged to have said Martine Aubry by phone, finding that additional cameras would assist in the “fight against trafficking of narcotic drugs, which are important in our city.”
