Nearly 200 employees in Niger

Acted is very established in Niger. She has a network of more than 200 employees, among displaced populations, particularly because of the conflict in the zone of Three Borders (Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger), and the crisis of Lake Chad. Acted has conducted in 2019 a dozen projects which have benefited almost 232 000 people. On site, the NGO provides emergency assistance to households displaced, as well as access to water and sanitation facilities. It also encourages the revival of agriculture and farming activities.

In its annual report, Acted lists the missions carried out in Niger in 2019. The NGO shall ensure that it has provided “emergency assistance to 71 571 displaced people, distributing 8705 kits to shelters and 12 119 kits of non-food items”. “108 773 vulnerable people benefited from a clean water supply, latrines, family or emergency”, added the NGO, which states have supported 2539 people in their professional activity or training. Other lever action : food security. Acted has distributed emergency food to 42, 636 people in 2019.

This activity is not limited to the Niger. Founded in 1993 and headquartered in Paris, l’agence d’aide à la coopération technique et au development is involved in a number of countries affected by conflicts or natural disasters, but also in areas that are prone to problems of food security and public health.

Several employees targeted

Acted has developed its first project in Kabul, Afghanistan. It is now present in 37 countries and employs some 6000 people across the world. In 2019, the NGO has spent € 316 million to implement 419 projects, according to its annual report.

Before the tragic event of Sunday, several employees of Acted had already been made for target.
