“WHO is in contact with the scientists and the Russian authorities and looks forward to studying the details of the testing clinics”, one can read in the communiqué issued in Geneva, where the organization has its headquarters.
Call for caution
“Accelerate the search for (the obtaining of) a vaccine should be made following the established process at each stage of the development, to ensure that any vaccine that is ultimately going to be product is both safe and effective,” says the WHO, urging “access to fast, fair, and equitable in the world to such a vaccine”.
