It happens! Paul Bettany remembered a humorous anecdote about filming Tom Hanks for 2006’s The Da Vinci Code, showing he”punched” a fart out of the legendary actor.

“I had to catch him and that I needed to shake him in the gut and it is very quiet on set,” that the Wandavision star, 49, recalled through a Wednesday, March 3, look on The Late Late Show With Stephen Colbert. “It’s always more quiet whenever there’s a stunt heading since you’re worried somebody’s gont get hurt. So, everyone’s listeningand I punched him in the gut and he farted really, really, really loudly.”

Bettany continued:”But very loudly. I didn’t know what the form was. What should you do if the biggest movie star in the world farts? I rather looked at him. And he went,’What’s wrong with you?

The story has been confirmed from the Cast Away celebrity, 64. He walked fans through his own version of events during a 2019 look on The Graham Norton Show, corroborating that the England native’s narrative. Hanks confessed he had not had the opportunity to be in that lots of movie struggles, noting,”When it comes down to fight scenes, I get cast as the pie-eater.”

… In movie fights, everyone treats it like it’s a real fight.”

“Paul came rushing in and I met himand what had to happen was he was supposed to knock me down against a desk and then I landed on the ground,” Hanks revealed. “When I struck the ground, I farted.”

Bettany previously told the story in 2015 while speaking with Yahoo Movies UK. He explained the California native kept asking him”to punch him harder” throughout filming the scene. The Toy Story actor was a Fantastic sport about it, though. Bettany shared at the time,”[Hanks] just looked at me and said,’You made me fart. Is not that amusing?'”
