The new series is set in the same world as the first Gossip Girl, however, it follows a completely new set of young people whose lives have been watched and ruled over by an entirely new era of social media.

Feb HBO Max,”This expansion of this pop culture classic takes us straight back into the Upper East Side finding a new generation of New York private school teens being introduced to social surveillance nine years following the original blogger’s website went dark. Gossip Girl investigates exactly how much social networking –along with the landscape of New York itselfhas changed in the intervening years”

There’s a Huge Twist

A Cosmo feature revealed that the series includes a significant twist that has not been reported. “My expectation is that we create it into airing and people don’t understand,” showrunner Joshua Safran said. “I would love to see that conversation happen in the context of people having seen it as opposed to talking about something they have not seen.”

What we do know is that Gossip Girl is no longer supposed to just be one individual, and is now all of us. What that actually means has yet to be seen…

Kristen Bell Returns

Gossip Girl might have taken on another form this time round, but she is going to sound the same. Kristen Bell returns as the iconic narrator for its reboot, and you may hear her do so in the first teaser.

Bell is the only cast member from the first show who’s now signed on to the new show.
