O’Donnell confirmed that she will be appearing on the show as production began in July 2021.

But now there are a lot of us, and I feel like everything is OK.” — I did it in the bus, and Penny Marshall says, “Rosie, do that again. It’s not gay.
However, the actress refused to believe it. “I said, Pen, did you see the words? She finally feels like she belongs amongst these tomboys. O’Donnell said that there was a slight undertone. She said, “No, it’s no gay anything. It shouldn’t be made gay. I just played it as it was. That was, again, to me, a gay character.”
