The film will stream in November 2021. It follows FBI profiler John Hartley as he tracks an Interpol-issued Red Notice, the highest-level warrant for the most wanted criminals around the globe. Nolan Booth (Reynolds), world’s second-leading artist thief is Hartley’s first target. But Hartley soon realizes that he must team up with the bad guys to track down The Bishop (Gadot), the top art thief in the world.
Gadot has always been concerned about pay parity throughout her career. “Equal pay for my male co-stars has been my greatest struggle as a female,” Wonder Woman’s Wonder Woman star stated during an April 2021 press conference to promote Impact With Gal Gadot. That has been my biggest struggle as a woman. As a human being, there have been many other issues. The thing I fought the hardest for was equal pay with my male stars.
Variety reports that Reynolds, Johnson, and Gadot all earned the same eight-figure sums for their acting jobs. Johnson, however, is expected to make more because he was not only the star of the adventure film but also served as a producer.
Johnson stated in a October 2021 Facebook post Red Notice was “the largest investment NETFLIX ever made in a movie” and that the budget allowed the film to feel enormous as it follows the FBI agent, art thieves and their journey around the globe. The film features huge stunt scenes and lots of special effects.
“Here’s my knowledge Red Notice was the first movie I ever watched on @Netflix. I wanted it to be historic, huge and entertaining for the whole world,” Termana Tequila founder at the time wrote.
Deadline reported that Red Notice had a budget of $130 million. Legendary and Universal were originally set to produce the film in 2018 when it was first announced. However, the companies pulled out after they found it too costly. Netflix was able to finance the blockbuster movie. The 2020 coronavirus pandemic caused production to be halted, likely adding additional costs to an already expensive film.
The film’s success is not limited to the actors. According to Deadline, director Rawson Marshall Thurber secured an eight-figure deal with Red Notice. Thurber worked also with Johnson and Seven Bucks Productions for 2016’s Central Intelligence as well as 2018’s Skyscraper.

Dwayne Johnson
Red Notice’s $20 million pay check to the former wrestler pro has made him a fortune. He is likely to earn more because of his involvement behind-the scenes. Johnson co-produced the film with Seven Buck Productions.
Variety reported that the star of Amazon’s Red One, a holiday movie, will be a Californian who will make $30 million.
Ryan Reynolds
Red Notice earned Reynolds $20 million as a Canadian actor. Reynolds was previously paid $26 million by Netflix for his work in Red Notice. Reynolds also received $26 million from Netflix for Michael Bay’s Six Underground film. For Deadpool 2, he previously made about $20 million.
Gal Gadot
Former Miss Israel also earns $20 million as an art thief in Red Notice. With a starting salary of $10 million, Wonder Woman 1984 saw her earn about the same amount. Gadot negotiated an additional $10 million for the film’s theatrical release after Warner Bros. was unable to do so due to the Covid-19 crises.
