A limited theatrical release will be made in IMAX of the Beatles’ complete rooftop concert at Apple Corps headquarters in London later in the month. This 60-minute film will premiere Jan. 30, 53 year to the day that the Beatles performed their last public performance.
The Beatles: Get Back – The Rooftop Concert is linked to Peter Jackson’s acclaimed three-part documentary Get Back. While the entire concert is featured in the film, audio and footage will be remastered for IMAX. Jackson will take part in a Q&A session following the concert film. This will be broadcast via satellite at all participating IMAX theatres.

Jackson stated in a statement that he was thrilled that The Beatles’ rooftop concert: Get Back will be seen in IMAX on the huge screen. It’s The Beatles’ final concert and it’s the perfect way to view and hear it.
The Rooftop Concert will receive an additional theatrical release on February 11-13, following the Jan. 30-premiere. In the United States, Get Back will also be available on Blu-ray/DVD on February 8.
After Jackson spent many years editing 60 hours of footage that he had accumulated during Michael Lindsay-Hogg’s original Let It Be film production, Get Back was finally released last November. Rob Sheffield, Rolling Stone’s Beatles expert, wrote a glowing review of the film, saying, “It is a stunningly intimate portrait about a friendship — The world’s favourite foursome, both then and now.” John, Paul George, Ringo and George have become symbols of the idea that a group, a collective, insane kids takes a stand against all things. They also embody the concept of breaking down. You can see the bond beginning to break down in Get Back. You can also see how desperate they are to hold on.
