Millie is eager to see her father perform

Already planning when I will take Millie to see Pete in Grease The Musical at the West End. Millie loves to watch him perform and is eager for me to take her.

Theo accompanied Pete on the tour last year. However, the West End show may not be suitable for him. We will need to wait to find out if I am able to take him.

He might go to a matinee. It would be great to have Pete home every night after the performance.

He was often on tour for several weeks at a stretch. It was not uncommon for him to be away from London for as long as a week.

Transfusions don’t seem to be uncommon

Sid Owen, an EastEnders actor, and Victoria Shores, his fiancee, introduced Skye to Good Morning Britain as their 2-week-old baby girl Skye.

Victoria was four weeks prematurely born by C-section. Victoria also had to undergo a blood transfusion. Although it can be distressing, a transfusion is safe and will only ever be required if absolutely necessary.

A transfusion may be recommended if you are extremely anaemic prior to giving birth or if your baby is very sick.

Although I was fortunate not to need transfusions with my two deliveries, it’s not common. Talk to your midwife if you have any questions or concerns.

These conversations can be tricky in an emergency situation, so it is worth discussing them ahead of time.

I am recognized at work, but people are always friendly

Recently, Dr Ranj Singh, a paediatrician, was asked if fans ask him for a photo with him when he is working for the NHS.

The TV doctor said: “Well that’s worse than that. I tried to take a picture of their child on a machine for life support with them. It’s not right. This is not the time to do that kind of thing.

Sometimes, I believe that people can sometimes react unexpectedly to situations where they are taken by surprise.

Pete was wearing his scrubs when I was going through labor. People were asking for photos.

He said: “No, my spouse is in labor, I’m sorry, I can’t right then.”

It’s the first time in almost 10 years that he has refused to have a photo taken.

Sometimes I get recognized at work but everyone is always kind and respectful of my work.

Dr Ranj’s experience aside, it is rare for anyone to be inappropriate or ask for a photograph in an awkward manner.

Everyone is always so kind and welcoming towards me. Recently, I visited my brother Tom, who is also an obstetrician in Bristol.

He owns an aesthetics clinic along with a friend. I decided to go see him and grab a quick cup of coffee. He is very busy so it’s not often that I get to visit him. When I get the chance, I make sure to visit him.

He was back seeing clients as usual. I saw him for approximately half an hour, but that was it.

He was a great example of how to set up a business right in the middle Covid while simultaneously working for the NHS during the height of the pandemic. It is always wonderful to see him.
