Zendaya and Tom Holland’s Relationship Timeline: “Spider-Man Homecoming” and Beyond
From friends to lovers. Although Zendaya Holland and Tom Holland keep their romance private, fans know that they have a long history.
They met in 2016 while they were working on Spider-Man: Homecoming. Soon romance rumors followed. They were first spotted kissing on July 20, 21 and there was no direct confirmation that they were dating.
In photographs taken by Page Six, they were seen in Holland’s car at the time packing their PDA. In an Audi sports car in Los Angeles, the two made fun of each other and shared a smooch.
A source told Us Weekly exclusively that the photos confirmed what was suspected for many years. The source also revealed to Us Weekly that the couple were unaware of the photographer taking pictures and preferred to fly under radar.
Another source said that they are not open to making their relationship public. “They are private about dating so any photos that were published would have been of them doing their normal business without knowing that photographers were there.” Later that month, an insider revealed that the Marvel stars’ friendship was the foundation for their romantic relationship.
“Zendaya started out as great friends, and they stayed that way for quite a while before things turned romantic,” the source said. She added that Tom and Zendaya “work really well together because she makes him laugh and she helps him navigate the world of celebrity.”
Holland became a household name when he was made the internet-slinging superhero in Captain America: Civil War (2016). Although Zendaya was named after her husband, Zendaya entered the Marvel Cinematic Universe years before, when she starred in Disney Channel’s hits Shake It Up, and KC Undercover.
According to a third source, the duo “challenge one another and balance each other,” according to Us in July 2021.
Due to their on-again-off-again relationship, it is not clear how long they have been together. They were initially linked in 2017 but have been in other relationships ever since. Zendaya was first linked to Euphoria costar Jacob Elordi, in 2020. Holland was believed to be with Olivia Bolton, a family friend from 2019 to 2020. After posting a picture of Nadia Parkes to Instagram, he sparked romance rumors.

As they graced The Hollywood Reporter’s front cover together, Zendaya was called Tom’s “mate”. This was the Brit’s first ever cover shoot.
