The third season of the show ended in May 2020. This means that viewers will have to wait nearly two years before they can see new episodes. The series returns on February 27, 2022. The BBC’s thriller became a hugely popular series, but the cast and crew believe that season 4 is the right moment to end the story.

“I’m trying to not think about it too much,” Jodie Coer said Harper’s Bazaar UK on November 2021. It’s sad, I know. This character has been my friend for a very, very long time. Instead of going on with our lives and losing our integrity, I prefer that we end on a positive note.

In its short time, the show received a lot of critical acclaim. Comer and Sandra Oh took home Emmys and Golden Globes for their acting. She became the first Asian woman to win multiple Golden Globes when the Grey’s Anatomy alum received her trophy in 2019.

Sideways actress, Mary Ann McLaughlin, has spoken out about her surprise to learn she would be playing Killing Eve‘s title character after many years of supporting roles in films and series.

“When I was offered the Killing Eve project, I recall… asking [my Agent], ‘I don’t get it like, who are I playing?’ and my agent said, ‘Eve. You’re playing Eve.’ Oh stated during an August 2021 interview on NPR. “That was a very significant moment for me in understanding how deeply my internalized racism was. Why did I not expect someone to offer me the title role?

A season 4 teaser was released in December 2021 and it appears that Oh could once again make history. After trying to end their season 4, finale, Villanelle and Eve are seen sparring again.

BBC America’s plot summary states that Eve is on a revenge mission and Villanelle has created a new community to prove she’s not “monster”. “This season follows the extraordinary women who are driven by passion, revenge, and obsession. It builds towards a messy but nuanced series finale.”

When does it premiere?

BBC America will air the first two episodes on February 27, 2022. AMC will air the show on Mondays starting February 28. AMC+ subscribers can stream the first episode one-week early, on February 20.

Who is Coming Back?

Oh and Comer will reprise their roles as Eve and Villanelle, while Fiona Shaw is set to return as Carolyn Martens (an MI6 agent). It is also possible that Sean Delaney, Eve’s sidekick, will return to his role.

Who is the Other Person Involved in this?

Laura Neal will take over from Suzanne Heathcote. She was the head writer for season 3. Previous projects include Sex Education, and Secret Diary of a Call Girl.

In a February 2020 statement, executive producer Sally Woodward gentle stated that Laura is “frighteningly bright”, takes no prisoners, and can laugh at everything. She is wild and impulsive, and wicked. Season 4 promises a wild, pitch-black riot with the stories we have already created.

What is it all about?

The plot of the new season is still being kept secret, but the plot synopsis from the network revealed that Carolyn would go to “extraordinary lengths” to pursue down The Twelve and the man who ordered Kenny’s hit. The teaser suggested that the series finale might not be for everyone. Carolyn says, “People like we aren’t made to live happy lives with happy endings.”

What will it end?

Although Comer and Oh didn’t reveal the ending, they did share their feelings about it.

It’s mixed emotions. Comer said that he was “kind of shocked” to the New York Times in Feb 2022. The best thing about filming the ending was that we were all together, which was incredible. Truth be told, I’m not sure how I feel about it.

Oh said, “I think it was quite victorious.” We remained true to our characters and each other, I believe.”
