Leeds defender Diego Llorente will replace Aymeric Laporte in Spain’s squad for Nations League matches scheduled for early June, the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) announced in a statement on Wednesday.
Already an international, called up eight times, Llorente will replace the Franco-Spanish defender of Manchester City Aymeric Laporte, hit in the right knee according to a press release from his club released Wednesday morning.
Luis Enrique’s group will begin their rally on Monday May 30 at their headquarters in Las Rozas, northwest of Madrid.
Spain will play four matches as part of the start of the 2022-2023 Nations League: against Portugal on June 2 in Seville, against the Czech Republic on June 5 in Prague, against Switzerland on June 9 in Geneva and a another match against the Czech Republic, June 12 in Malaga.
